Take a blank sheet of paper. Write in the center something you're passionate about or interested in: a movie, a hobby, a place, a concept. Circle it. Now write around it everything that topic makes you think of: memories, connections, ideas, questions. Connect them to the center with lines. From each new branch, you can create sub-branches. There's no right way to do this. The goal is to see what emerges when you give one single idea 15 minutes of space.
You need a square sheet of paper. 1. Fold diagonally corner to corner. Unfold and repeat the other diagonal. Unfold. 2. Fold in half horizontally, then vertically. Unfold. 3. Push the sides inward using the existing creases to form a small square. 4. Fold the edges of the square to the center. Repeat on the other side. 5. Fold the top point down. Unfold. Open the layers and squash fold upward. 6. Fold the inner edges to the center. Repeat on the other side. 7. Fold the points upward to form the neck and tail. 8. Fold one point down to make the head. 9. Gently pull the wings apart from the sides. Your crane is ready!
